A half-truth is a statement that includes an element of truth but does not tell the whole story. The statement might be partly true, or even totally true, but only part of the truth. A half-truth can be more dangerous than a complete lie. It may lead someone astray and cause them to stumble or be ensnared. Each idea we hold in ourselves becomes the substance out of which we build ourselves — may we build upon the rock of sound ideas and not upon the sand of half-truths.
